About The Making a Mark Foundation, Inc.

The Making a Mark Foundation, Inc. was founded to support families affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. It was created in memory of Mark Solveson, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in his early fifties. Mark, a devoted father, husband, brother, and grandfather, courageously battled the disease for several years before passing away at the age of 59. Despite having insurance, his family still faced significant financial challenges as the disease progressed.

In response to these struggles, Mark’s daughter, Samantha, founded the Making a Mark Foundation with a clear mission: to provide financial relief to families navigating the hardships of dementia care. The foundation’s goal is simple—to help families focus on what truly matters: spending quality time with their loved ones, without the added burden of financial strain.
